Mariah Carey’s OPI Nail Line

Okay so when I saw the initial ad for Mariah Carey’s OPI line I was not impressed.

Being the nail junkie that I am, I cannot ignore her “Stay the Night” polish which changes from liquid to sand!!! SOLD.

I loved crackle, nail caviar, etc so I must try this.

Here is the entire line to debut this spring:

OCM Follow Up

I know I’m past the 2 week follow-up that I promised but the holidays happened!

Go here to read my original post:

The verdict?

I won’t go back to face soap or store bought cleansers again.

Using the OCM has drastically improved the softness of my skin and the breakouts.  I have used moisturizer maybe 3 times in almost 4 weeks.  My mixture is EVOO (Extra Virgin Olive Oil) and a few drops of patchouli (a natural astringent and my favorite scent).

Please share your comments and/or ask me any questions you have.

My 2013 Fashion Goals

1. Add more color to my wardrobe.
2. Buy/wear more dresses/skirts.
3. More skinny jeans.
4. Try to wear heels once a month.
5. Tone up.

These may seem simple to you but I love to wear black and work for myself so jeans are a part of my daily uniform. I knoooooow, I blog and buy a lot of fabulous pieces but throw on jeans most of the time. Tragedy.

Can you identify with any of my fashion goals? What are yours?

Spring Lippy

Natural Face Cleansing: The OCM

I have never had problem skin UNTIL about a year ago.  My skin has always looked great and I took care of it by investing in quality skin care products and I love them but lately I am noticing that my skin needs more, I am also experiencing minor breakouts and I don’t want to keep piling on product…soooooooo I’m going the natural way!

It’s a little scary…but I am reading rave reviews on the Oil Cleansing Method (OCM).  Have you heard of it?  Have you tried it?  I’ve been reading about it for some time but was never interested in trying it until a recent breakout.  I’m not used to breakouts so I may be prematurely panicking but I like to nip my problems asap. says:

“Oil dissolves oil. One of the most basic principals of chemistry is that “like dissolves like.” The best way to desolve a non-polar solvent like sebum/oil, is by using another non-polar solvent similar in composition: other oils. By using the right oils, you can cleanse your pores of dirt and bacteria naturally, gently and effectively, while replacing the dirty oil with beneficial ones extracted from natural botanicals, vegetables and fruit that heal, protect and nourish your skin. When done properly and consistently, the OCM can clear the skin from issues like oily skin, dry skin, sensitive skin, blackheads, whiteheads and other problems caused by mild to moderate acne–while leaving your skin healthy, balanced and properly moisturized.”

The basic OCM is where I will start with one part Castor Oil and One part Extra Virgin Olive Oil for my new nighttime routine (in the a.m. I will continue using my gentle cleanser) :

1. quarter size in my palm

2. apply to dry face and rub (not scrub) in

3. wet a washcloth with hot/warm water and put it over your face until it’s about room temperature. (This is steaming out your pores, removing the impurities and the dead skin cells)

4. take the washcloth, rinse and wring it, then gently wipe off the oil

I’ll be back in 2 weeks to update. Wish me luck!
